Let me tell you finding peace with the Lord can be hard. In the midst of struggle, it isn’t the easiest thing to do, trust me. I find that when I sit and pray with the Lord I find an overwhelming peace. It’s amazing how the power of prayer can change you!
Instead of trying to avoid suffering, seek to learn and grow through it.
Keep in mind that God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy. What does this mean to us? Well based on scripture we learn that holiness has eternal value. Go wants to help us grow and learn to become more like Jesus himself. What better way than to do this than through suffering. Yes it’s horrible and we all hate it, but we need to change that thinking!! We all know that with suffering there is light! We start to develop a stronger character. Right there. that’s God teaching us a lesson. A very important lesson for that matter. So don’t expect that you can avoid suffering; accept the fact that suffering will inevitably come into your life (as it does for everyone) whenever God allows it. Instead of trying to avoid suffering, ask God to use it to accomplish good purposes in your life. Ask God to help you view your hardship from the perspective of how it advances God’s purposes for you. The power for prayer will result in a peace that will help you through it all.
You are loved my God and has a plan for you…
“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Receive the peace that Jesus offered you each day!
Most recently my husband and I have struggled with the debate of moving back with my family in California. With that Colin would back to school to get his commercial pilot’s license, I would get a new teaching job, sell our house, sell a ton of “stuff” at the house, get rid of our puppy & move in with my parents. All of this seemed miserable, however the thought of being closer to my family seemed amazing. The more we thought together and the more I prayed about it the more I came to peace with a decision. We decided to stay in Texas and together make this our home and the place we grow a family. This all was A LOT! It was stressful, I was lost and needed someone to just tell me what to do! God was the only one who could make that choice. With the power of prayer I was able to find peace in God’s plan for us.
I find that when I make it a daily habit of looking beyond tough circumstances to Jesus we just accepting His invitation to receive spiritual peace that changes the struggles we all might be currently encountering.
My Prayer for you today- Father, I thank You for the peace You have given to me, which does not depend on feelings or circumstances.
Through it all, prayer will find you peace in any struggling situation. I hope this helps you through your journey of life too!
Love from Texas,
