It's December and you know what that means! It's the season for giving, spreading joy, and enjoying family traditions. This is the best time of the year and my favorite time of the year too! Christmas is not just about the hustle of holiday shopping or the gifts you receive. Christmas means something more. It's the act of giving, no matter how small the act is. My favorite thing to do during the holiday season is to bake cookies. Baking for someone is personal and the perfect gift that anyone would love. At first, I made these cookies for my husband, Colin, but I came to find out that I made too many. So I figured , why not give them to our coworkers and friends! When you give something small, you feel an overwhelming sense of joy. The holidays are meant for yummy homemade family recipes and best of all... cookies! I mean who wouldn't want some holiday cookies?
For it is in giving that we receive
Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe is not the famous cookie recipe pictured or the batch we gave to our friends because that one is TOP SECRET. So I gave y'all another award winning cookie recipe. This one is good too, but just not the same as the secret family recipe. Sorry to break it to y'all.
Soft Chocolate Chip Cookie
1/2 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups of butter
2 t. Vanilla
4 1/2 cups of flour
1 t. salt (or less)
2 t. baking soda
5 cups chocolate chips
1 cup of love and lots of stiring muscles
Optional: 2 cups walnuts
The point behind this is not to make your mouth water, but to share that the joy of giving is much bigger than the joy of receiving. So I challenge you this holiday season to do something small for someone else. So pull out your ingrediants, baking sheets, apron, and whip up some yummy treats for your friends and family this holiday season.
Happy holidays! Cheers!
No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted
Merry Christmas and happy holidays yall!
