We all know Christmas doesn't come from the store, it comes from something more! Christmas is about spending time with family and spreading the holiday joy. The goal of Christmas decorations are to "capture the holiday spirit." If you are like me, you can't help but buy the latest and greatest Christmas decorations! This year Target came out on top with all their decorations. I am excited to share with you my home decor this holiday season.
Deck the Halls with boughs of holly
This year was the first year we did our holiday decor because in the past, we have always been traveling. Having our home decorated makes it feel so homey with all the silver and of course all the SPARKLES. We did buy a faux tree (I miss the smell of a real tree) but I hate to admit it- I kind of love it! It's low maintenance, less fuss, the lights were already on, and it looks just like the real thing.
This year I decided to go with the silver bulbs because of the simplicity and I also added the ornaments we have collected over the years. (If you know Colin and I, I bet you can tell whose is whose.) A great place to get ornaments is Target of course but Pottery Barn has super pretty ones too! The ones we have on our tree are from Target, Pottery Barn, or have been given to us as a gifts. The big silver sequins bulb, pictured below, was gifted to me by one of my best friends, Carolyn. Shout out to her for her sweetness this holiday season!! It's even covered with sparkles. She knows me too well!
I don't know about y'all but Christmas trees just make me so happy! I mean how could they not?
Christmas decor is not the same with out a snowman! I mean come on look how cute he is! I bet you could guess his name... it's Frosty. While decorating, I changed our engagement photos to our new wedding photos! (Still obsessing over them) Also, I included our new Pottery Barn candle holders. I can't wait to put candles on them this winter- Target was lacking on the candles this year so I am going to get mine from Pottery Barn instead.
Check out where I found my candle stick holders and candles here!
We live in a loft like apartment in Downtown Dallas. That means we have a lot of space to work with. Even though I feel like it's hard to design the interior space, our living room is still so cozy and enchanting! I mean look at it, who wouldn't want to cozy up with some hot coco?

The collage wall decor is my favorite part of our living room because of all the unique pieces. Each one has a meaning behind it. The sign "All of me loves all of you" was at our wedding and all our wedding festivities. This saying is also in a poplular John Legend song. The pictures are from our engagement shoot by We Heart Photography, which are very special to Colin and I. The clock is a symbol to always spend "time" together and with God. The sign "All you need is love, is all you need" is a popular Beatles song. This saying tells it all, love is truly all you really need in life. Love is what gives us happiness. The next sign is what I call our "House Rules." In our home we laugh, we have patience, we are truthful, we always support each other, we hug often... VERY often, we both make mistakes, we always forgive no matter what, we have fun, and most of all we always LOVE. I love this sign because each rule shows what it takes to have a healthy marriage. Lastly, the wooded United States plaque was given to me as a gift at my wedding shower from a very close family friend. When I recieved this, it brought tears to my eyes because of what it means. Each heart on the map is placed for a specific reason. The heart in California represents where I am from and the heart in the middle represents Nebraska which is where Colin is from and where we both met. Then, the heart at the bottom represents the most important place. This place is where we started our lives together forever, Dallas, TX! As I say though, who knows what God's plan in life is. Whatever he has in store, we will always leave a piece of our hearts wherever we go. When you create your collage decor wall, find peices that are either important to you or stand out to you. It truly can be anything you desire it to be. Be creative. Be you!
So who wants to come over for some girls night and wine it up?
