Burr!! I don’t know how y’all feel but it’s getting pretty chilly down here in the south. The Texas heat was making it feel like it winter was never going to come. Now it’s safe to say that it’s officially sweater weather! This is such a cozy time of the year and the best for cozying up in big blanket scarves and warm earmuffs.
When it comes to cold weather dress, I always opt for the cute but comfy look. Sometimes winter wear can be tricky in order to make it comfy and dressed up at the same time. I find it easy and fun to mix prints and be bold. You can still create a dressed up look by switching up the outfit and pairing the vest with a shirt tucked into a skirt. This gives it a more of a preppy look. This year, I love adding mixed prints to something simple or even pairing my outfit with a statement piece.
My puffer vest, that you can check out below, is from Gap but I also love J. Crew’s quilted vests! I fell in love with this red one because of the fur hood. I can't forget that it's also removable (swoon!) This vest is easy, comfortable, warm, and perfectly defined. My stripped shirt is from J. Crew and my scarf is sadly no longer available. I have also posted some alternatives below. My rain boots are from Target and the brand is Merona. These boots are an affordable alternative to Hunter boots and they are lace up in the back... so cute! Lastly, my earings are made from the Color Bar at Kendra Scott. You can also create them online or at the Kendra Scott. At their physical store locations, there is an option to design your own pieces. This is a fun way to wear what you love!
Word on the street says this cold front here in Dallas is supposed to stay around some more. Keep your fingers crossed y’all!

FUN FACT: This shoot was in Oklahoma on a SUPER windy day. This hood came in clutch for sure. We were so cold, our eyes were crying! It was fun because we found an empty field near an oil rig!
