Happy weekend friends… I’m currently drink a glass of wine and obsessing over these darling denim skirt looks. You’ll see why here in a minute. Just wanted to share with you that summer is coming to an end here soon, kinda sad about it. But, I’m super excited because stores are already putting their fall items out! I can taste all the pumpkin spices right now!! On the blog I’m sharing two ways to style and wear denim skirts. Let’s go…
Denim way #1
This denim look totally screams “Kirstin” and has my name written all over it!! So it’s an obvious that outfit #1 is my favorite. Besides the fact- y’all are probably wondering what my shirt says as you can’t take out what it says (laughing at myself) … the lighting was a little off which made it hard to see the words. It says “But first… Nordstrom” I know so fitting right? Granted, it’s currently the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but those words speak to me… hence why I got it! Nordstrom is so my jam.
Now back to how to wear this darling denim skirt. Beside pairing it with this darling tee, you can wear it with any tee either stripped, white, black and literally any color. I paired it with these darling cowgirl boots because why not? Let’s be extra and wear cowgirl boots. I think it looks precious. Side note – when I put this outfit on I told Colin that this would have been an outfit I would have worn in high school. Goes to tell you styles come and go! If boots aren’t your style, wear this skirt with wedges, booties, or just about any shoes. See how I wear it with sneakers below…
The accessories I wore are all linked for you below. I styled this darling look with a bandana for a pop of pink. You could always wear the bandana in your hair if around the neck isn’t your style. I personally think anyone can wear a bandana around their neck and look cute! The earrings I’m wear I wasn’t able to link, but found similar ones too.
This outfit might just be my new go-to outfit for transitioning into fall here in Texas. When it gets colder, I plan to wear this denim skirt with a sweater by front tucked and paired with riding boots. Denim skirts can totally be styled during every season! See a more casual way to make this denim skirt look cute below…
Denim Way #2
Last but not least, this look is so stinkin’ cute! Don’t ya’ll agree?! I’d have to say it’s perfect for brunching or just for any casual day. With the denim skirt, I’m wearing the BP stripped tee front knotted. I love front knotting my tees with denim skirts because it adds a little bit of sass to it. Who doesn’t love some sassiness?! I highly suggest never to wear a tee just slopped over your skirt, it’s not flattering. If knots aren’t your style, then do a simple front tuck, where you tuck it in only the front. If you need help send me a DM on Instagram and I’ll do a IGTV tutorial.
Denim skirts always look cute with sneakers. I wouldn’t wear “athletic” shoes with it that would look weird. I would suggest more of an athleisure sneaker, like the Nike ones I’m wearing above. I linked some other alternative options below too. Sneakers don’t look bad, it’s all about which kind you wear. I found that the “old school” version of sneakers always look good. (ie: Adidas, Nike, New Balance, Converse etc.. If there’s a shoe that doesn’t have your size because it’s part of the N. Sale then keep looking back or wait until the sale is over. All sizes will get restocked.)
Let’s talk about my accessories. For this look, I styled the denim skirt with statement earrings and the Original Adidas cap. I know it seems risky to wear a hat with such bold earring. In my fashion eyes, I think it totally works! I mean how cute does this look?! I love it!!
Well, there’s two totally different ways to wear a denim skirt. Both ways are cute, just different depending on where you’re headed. Outfit #1 is going to be more dress ywhere as outfit #2 is super causal. I’d wear outfit one to date night and outfit two on a day where I’m running around town.
Doesn’t this just make you want to bring back the darling denim skirt now? I’m hooked- I already bought two!! The one I’m wearing is on sale for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, however it’s totally worth it. The fit is amazing and not too tight. It’s flattering in all the ways you need it.
