All you moms out there this one’s for you. Lately, I’ve been so overwhelmed with the different types of toys on the market. There is so much and I’ll be honest, it can overwhelming. As a new mom I’ve been guilty of searching the web for hours trying to find things for Corbin and his developmental stage. Thanks to my sweet dear friend of mine, Emily, Pediatric Physical Therapist of Kinesio Kids from Southlake, Texas is here to help us out!
Who’s is Kinesio Kids?
Emily is the creator and Physical Therapist behind Kinesio Kids. She works with kiddos of all ages to help them developmentally gain the skills they need to grow and develop. With over 10 years of experience and two kids of her own, she is super well rounded in her expertises. Emily is based in Southlake, Texas but does virtual consultations/ appointments as well. She literally is a child whisper and has some amazing success testimonies too. Not only is she a personal friend of mine, but she very trusting and patient in the work that she does. Just following Kinesio Kids on social media you mama’s will love it. I found it to be so helpful too.
Toys for 4-12 month olds…
Emily broke down the different toys into that all have added benefits to your child’s growth and development.
- Manipulative toys– these toys get moved in different locations about 6 inches away from your baby. These can place in certain areas to direct the child to do a specific movement etc… See more on @Styledbysequins highlight stories & @kinesio_kids IG highlight stories as well.
- Stationary Toys– toys are good for weight bearing exercises, meaning through the hands.
- Other Toys that were Kinesio Kid’s favorite…
Y’all can shop the different toys by clicking on the shoppable images. On @styledbysequins highlight stories, I’ve saved our session to see how we used these different toys with Corbin. Y’all, Corbin was so exhausted after all his hard work. It was like a true workout for that little guy, but soo good!
I hope this was helpful for you mama’s out there. I know for me personally, learning about how to use different toys and which ones were “fluff” or not made the sea of toys seem less overwhelming.
