I’m a firm believer of reflection. Reflection over your personal life, work life and faith! A new year brings new goals. It’s what our society just does. You see it everywhere, from weight loss to reading more. Honestly, these goals are REALLY hard to obtain for a year. Some goals will be, but others we tend to fall back on our old ways. Change is hard.
As I look over from 2019 I can’t say I would change anything, expect I need to work on my mental health. I stress out and worry too much. I just need to chill as my mother would say. It’s a new decade, we have a baby on the way at the start of the year. I can tell it will be a great year, but it will come with change. For me personally, I hate change. Change means stress. What I’m going to focus on this new year is to lay it on the Lord. When I focus on my relationship with the Lord, I’m a better me. I feel like He’s calling me to turn the corner this year, in a lot of areas.
Maybe you make new year’s resolutions every year, and maybe that’s not your cup of tea. BUT, there’s just something about a new decade I’m feeling really pumped about! We all make lists for the new year. Noramlly I’m all about that, but we forget them by summer time. Let’s just be real. So I’m going to challenge you all to find three things. Make those three things one word each… ex: Faith, relax, health are my three words for the new year. It’s amazing how two words can mean so much!
Faith– I want to grow spiritually with the Lord
Relax– I stress and over analyze things too much. I just need to go with the flow and relax. Everything is okay and I want to focus on this mentally this 2020.
Health– With a baby on the way, I want to focus on my health both mentally and physically.
It’s amazing how far just three words can go. It’s much easier to remember and focus on three simple words than a whole laundry list. I promise it will be easier to stick with too! You can put ANYTHING on your list – places you want to go, lifestyle changes, goals, etc! Before you start on your three words for the new year though…I encourage you to spend some time praying and reflecting over the past year. What did you love about this past year? What areas seemed off-balance to you? What caused you anxiety? How well did you treat your body? For me personally, when I spend time reflecting on myself and 2019, I’m able to see some changes that needed to happen.
I don’t know about y’all…but I am pumped for this new year. There’s going to be so much excitement and will be a year that won’t be forgotten. I have some great new ideas for my blog and content I want to share with you guys to hopefully add value to your life, it’s a new decade! I always want to share what you like to read and see, but sometimes that’s hard for me to predict. If you ever have anything you want me to focus on don’t be afraid to speak up! I love it actually when I get your input.
Love from Texas,
