I’ve been trying to share more at-home workouts on my instagram lately since we’re all doing the majority of our workouts at home (unless you’re running/biking outside!). So today I wanted to round up some of minima, but necessary equipment for at home workouts! This is very minimal equipment but it’s plenty to get a good sweat in and motivate you to workout, even at home! In our house, I keep all of my workout gear in the garage or in the corner in the living room. Our living room is pretty spacious so I’m grateful to be able to have plenty of space when it’s too cold in the garage. I prefer to workout when it’s a tad warm so I get a bigger sweat on. Keep in mind you don’t need a lot of room to make workouts at home work. I just pull it out when I do my workouts and it’s not a lot of equipment…it’s definitely enough to allow for a great workout and make you sore the next day!
The types of workouts vary and I try to keep a schedule of the different types of workouts that I do. I’m always changing up the workouts. Everyday is a different workout. How do I keep changing it? I switch between finding new workouts on YouTube (there’s a ton!) I will link a few of my favorites below. I also will stream videos from Beachbody On Demand videos (I’ve had this account for years), use the Tone it Up app (I have a subscription), go for a run or be innovative.
Keep in mind I like to switch things up, this is just a sample of what I might do. I try to hit every body part weekly. My runs depend on weather and some weeks I might not get it in because of weather. The time of day I workout varies depending on how Corbin naps. I always workout during his naps. Saturdays are different because Colin (my husband) isn’t working and I feel better about letting him watch him while I workout.
Monday: Leg workout– On the Tone It Up subscription there’s a wide variety of booty workouts. They are simple, yet effective. I highly recommend the subscription app because you get more video for a longer length. TIU booty band workout is my favorite, incorporating bands is a great way to strength train. I may also do A Little More Obsessed leg workout- they’re killer! Lifetime offers a class called Gluteus Maxout at their gyms. Here’s the class for free!
Wednesday: Full body workout– I belong to Lifetime gym here in Texas and thankfully they have some at home videos to do. The classes on Youtube are just like the ones they offer. Xtreme is a great full body workout!
Friday: Upper body workout- Check out Tone It Up upper body workouts or A Little More Obsessed upper body workout. For a free upper body workout, I’d suggest switching it up with different upper body workouts from HASfit. I randomly can across their videos and I thought it was a great sweat!
Saturday: 3 mile run or a HIIT workout or Insanity Max30. Saturdays might be a day where I give myself grace and take the day off too. It’s important to listen to your body, but also mind over matter!
Sunday: off day, but may go for a walk depending on the weather.
*Orange Theory has some free classes on Youtube that are great! They go through each exercise fully or you can skip straight to the set and begin. I like how they play music and have a timer. I’m super motivated by a timer because I try to always beat it.
I’m not expert, this is just what works for me! I love switching up my workout routine and plan to share what I do next for a little switch-a-roo!
Love from Texas,
