Let’s take a back track for a moment… remember that big scare at our big mid-pregnancy 20 week check (I was just shy of 19 weeks) and the detailed sono discovered two CPC cysts on the brain. (This was a total Mic drop!!) When we learned about these specific cysts we were totally lost for words. So many questions were arising. Would he have downs or another chromosome issue? Could this be linked to something wrong with brain development? All the question lingered our thoughts. Our doctor wanted us to do the genetic blood test to narrow down any chromosome abnormalities. Thanks to y’alls prayers, the blood test came back clear. This was such a relief.
What’s the news?
Yesterday we had out 23 week follow up. Going into it, I was a little anxious thinking about the progress of those “soft markers.” Thankfully the cysts are COMPLETELY gone! What great news, as they went away faster than expected, I’ll take that! What a blessing to find out that everything was perfect. He is going rapidly and doesn’t stop moving.
During the sono, he continued to kick and punch like crazy. Boy oh boy, those baby movements were sharp. He did not like getting that sono done. The tech and I were laughing because I would make a sound and she would respond back saying, “He just keeps running away from me!” Yes ma’am!! You mamas know the feeling of baby kicks, it can get a little wheezy after a while.
Adjustments here and there
It was wonderful hearing such amazing news. The one damper about this appointment was mama’s weight. Doctor said that I’m gaining weight on the faster side and I need to watch what I’m eating. The funny thing is, I eat pretty darn healthy. I don’t eat fast food or a ton of junk. I do limit my sweets and try to think healthier. The thing that’s different is my activity level. I used to workout 5-6 times a week, but that’s changed significantly. I’m lucky to get 3 days a week, let alone 2!
If you know me, I strive to always be better and the moment I learn that I’ve failed I try to fix it. Long story short I created a pregnancy meal plan that I’m going to adapt this week and go hard with it next week. NO THIS IS NOT A DIET, it’s just swapping carbs for more fats and proteins (I lack the in the fats and proteins.) I have shared my meal plan below with y’all for any pregnancy moms! Honestly, it’s a good one regardless if you’re pregnant or not. (Not an expert, just got a little help from my mom and google! We will see how it works!)

I’m sure there will be adjustments and changes here and there. That’s life, but I want to make the best effort I can pre baby. That way when baby does come I don’t have guilt for at least not trying.
NOTE: My baby story is different from person b. What I learn will be different from what you do. Every pregnancy is different because every baby is different.
