I cannot believe that I am in the third trimester as of this past Saturday. This pregnancy has felt like the longest, but at the same time it’s gone by so fast. It makes me anxious how time is going to fly by, especially with the holidays coming. If you are new to my blog, I have shared Colin and I’s pregnancy story. I have a full blog post on it HERE!
I haven’t been craving anything too crazy, if anything I have food aversions. This started super early on for me. The main changes have been constipation and trying to stay comfortable at both during the day and night. I’ve still been pretty fatigued, which we learned why recently!! We did the glucose blood test and thankfully I passed on the first go around, but I was anemic (low iron). A lot of the time, those who have low iron are more weak and fatigued. This feeling was the reasoning behind all the fatigue. Baby boy has stolen all my nutrients. As for sleeping, I’ve been loving my pregnancy pillow and already know that I’ll have a hard time giving that up when Corbin is here. It’s been a game changer! I started sleeping with it when I was around 20 weeks (maybe a little before that) and it’s been wonderful. That pillow is a must.
We are still working on the nursery. The painting is almost done and woof, it’s been a long ride. We have the rocker in place and the crib and dresser arrive this weekend. Then we just need a few more things and the nursery will be pretty much done! I can’t wait to give you a sneak peek soon.
My first baby shower was Saturday and it was everything I hoped it to be and more! My sweet friend, Lauren hosted the shower at her home with the help of my wonderful bible study girls. It was such a sweet time with my close girlfriends. Corbin already has a fun girl gang who love him, he will be smittened. I couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who made the shower perfect!
Here are a few pictures from this special day + linked some of the decorations used…
Baby Shower Dress:
I have been a huge fan of Pink Blush Maternity clothes during my pregnancy. i knew without a doubt that I would be wearing a dress from them. They fit true to size and is so easy to find something online and it will guarantee fit. Below I linked all the outfit details, including the accessories too…
What to gift the sweet friends who hosted a shower for you? For my hostesses on Saturday, I put together a little bag of items they will use daily. For the two girls who put in a lot of work I got them simple staple necklaces from Mustard Seed Jewelry with fun soap from Anthropologie. The other girls who helped I put a personalized initial mug with fun soap. I wanted to give them practical items that they would use but also items that when they used they would know how thankful I am for their friendship.
I think you should think about what makes your host happy and get her something along those lines!
At my shower, I received so many great items from my registry that were very practical and useful for our everyday life. I wanted to share my registries with y’all in hopes that it can help give the new mamas an idea of where to start when registering. Honestly, I truly had no idea where to start so I leaned on several of my close friends who recently had babies within the last year. I tried continually update them as I read about products and hear reviews on items I should try. I’ve really LOVED Babylist because you can add anything from any website…
**There are a few main items that aren’t listed on our registries that we have already received from family early on. For example, we are using the Uppababy Vista Stroller and have several accessories that will go along with that. I’ll share more about those items as we get close / as Corbin is using them!
Thank you so much for reading today’s blog post! I hope that all of this information is helpful if you are expecting. Love you guys so much!
