Today on Styled by Sequins, I’m sharing my personal experience with FASTer Way program. This is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. Again, this is what worked for me and I love the structure, balance, accountability, functionality and the community that FWTFL (FASTer Way to Fat Loss) offers. I’ve shared about FASTer Way for a while on Styled by Sequins and have shared a tad about it. Here on the blog, I’m going sharing details on FWTFL and how I make it work for my lifestyle.

Why I started…
At 6 months postpartum, I got the okay to start working out again from my doctor. I was ready to kill it. I will be honest I didn’t know where to start because my body didn’t move the way it used to. I was sore from my CS and I was totally out of shape. Plus this was all during the start of COVID, which meant gyms were closed. Regardless of gyms being closed I wasn’t at the point either where I felt comfortable to leave Corbin. I knew I wanted to do a program and I played around a bit with other fitness program apps. Those other programs were a “workout,” but it wasn’t targeting what my body specifically needed.
Liz (my coach) reached out and shared about FWTFL (FASTERway to Fat Loss) I was super hesitate to join. I didn’t want to feel overwhelmed with macros or the food part. I knew if I stuck to it, I would do it! When her round came around I took a leap and just did it!! I believe that’s sometimes all that it takes. I’m still doing Fastway today and have been since May of 2020.
About FWTFL…
Basically, it’s a fitness and nutrition program that focuses on the macro nutrients of your diet – specifically fat, carbs and protein. Each individual is guided on how to calculate a specific target of carbs, fats and protein to eat each day, based on your current height/weight and overall goals. I love how FWTFL carb cycles and has days that are low carb and regular marco days. Their program specifically designed this to go with the workout.
For me (and many others who follow the program), these were obtained (and tracked) using the MyFitnessPal app.
For $199, you’ll get 6 weeks of one-on-one coaching in our group (Liz is our couch)! This price also includes daily/weekly workout plans (that include low impact, home, and gym workouts), meal plans, and recipe guides! Your coach will coach you through the program, which focuses on whole food nutrition, balanced macros, intermittent fasting, carb cycling, and effective workouts to transform your life!
Once you complete your first round and continue, you are able to do VIP. There’s more challenges and workouts with VIP. I like VIP because you really can feel “successful.” It takes time to get where you want, just like anything else. Learn more about VIP membership here!

What is intermittent fasting?
Intermittent fasting is an eating schedule where you limit yourself to a shorter window of eating throughout the day. With the FWTFL program, they follow a 16:8 protocol, meaning you only have an 8-hour period for eating, and a 16-hour period where you don’t eat. (i.e., you might start eating at 11am and stop eating for the day, thus beginning your “fast” at 7pm, etc.).
This doesn’t mean you are eating less, what it means is you’re allowing your body to reset from the day before. You aren’t “cutting” calories. Everyone’s “calorie” intake will look different. With Fasterway we don’t look at calories we look at your macros for the day. Seems scary? Trust me once you can understand how FWTFL (super easy) it becomes second nature.
Ways I get through the fasting window, drink coffee, water, liquid Iv, anything under 50 calories. The hardest thing for me is the creamer… one day I will be able to get rid of it. So far I have been successful and hit it all with keeping it. Do what what’s for you and your lifestyle.

Food and workouts…
While the focus of FWTFL really is on on whole food nutrition, I honestly LOVE the workouts, so SO much. The app is easy and you can choose to watch the videos or do it on your own. I do both depending on the workout. Sometimes I go faster than they do in the video and will finish off with cardio until the time is up. I always followed the At Home options, they were seriously effective, and I loved the trainers (especially Hayden!). I also found that I was able to increase the amount of weight I had been using for a few different exercises, which was super exciting!
The workouts are only 30 minutes long, 5 days a week and are incredibly effective and strategically placed on certain days of the week to optimize fat burn! They can be completed at home or in the gym and are easy to follow along and not intimidating at all! We do a combination of HIIT workouts and strength training for your full body. I love that the workouts are different every day and every week so there’s always something new!

Can I have a cheat meal? Wine?
ABSOLUTELY! You can still enjoy some of your favorite foods, even a cheat meal on Saturdays, and you can still drink wine! This program is truly a lifestyle that will fit into what you already are doing but we’ll be more mindful! Trust me, your team will keep you accountable and be your support system all in one! Community is everything.
Currently…
What I have learned throughout this journey with Faster way, is you have to do what works for you. This is not a diet, but a lifestyle. When Corbin was born I naturally wasn’t eating until 11 or 12:00. Naturally, intermittent fasting came really easy to me. When I went back to teaching it was harder because I would wake up earlier and dealing with very needy kiddos. I love it, but it’s hard on an empty tummy. My lunch schedule is funky at work, students eat lunch at 10:15 (so early) and my planning is at 12:00. It worked to have lunch at 12:00. Long story short, the intermittent fasting has really worked well with my teaching and mom lifestyle. Lifestyle is the key word. Treat this as a lifestyle and you will be successful.
NUTRITION is the name of the game in the FASTer Way. Period.
Do I need a coach?
I think the level of dependency on a coach really varies from person to person. For me, I didn’t rely much on Liz to help walk me through how to track macros, because I was already familiar with that. For someone who has no experience with tracking, then that coaching piece is super crucial!
I DID, however, really thrive on just the idea of being held accountable. Each day, Liz assigned us with certain tasks, with a daily task of sharing a screenshot of our macros in MFP. Knowing I needed to follow something kept me accountable. Liz has a Facebook group that keeps us accountable.
What was my successes?
I felt really great on the program. It helped me create a lifestyle in a time of change. First, like I mentioned before, I always feel better when I’m tracking my macros. This is mainly because it keeps me in check and ensures that I’m eating enough of the right foods and getting an adequate amount of protein everyday. Protein is always hard to get in.

I really don’t know if I lost weight on the program, since I was getting rid of baby weight. I will say I am where I am prior to getting pregnant with Corbin. That wasn’t necessarily the goal, the goal was to find balance, mentally well and create a lifestyle of healthy ways. I did, however, notice my pants fitting a bit more comfortably, my sugar cravings drastically reduced, and a decrease in some of my measurements that were taken from the beginning of the program.
How do I get started?
Awesome!! I know that Liz’s next round is starting in March, and you can easily sign up using my affiliate link HERE! If you miss this round there’s other rounds too. Just be sure to sign up through my link to be on my team.
The first week is considered “prep week,” which allows you to really get a better feel for the program and what you’ll need to prepare and be successful throughout the program. Liz will ask you to fill out some information about yourself, so she has a better idea of your past experiences, goals, etc.
